Choosing baseplate for 7d/5d mkII

hello

right now i have zacuto universal baseplate (http://store.zacuto.com/universal-baseplate-v3-includes-12-inch-rods.html) with Manfrotto RC4 adapter.

this combo is not so good when using followfocus. torgue of followfocus gears moves the lens up and down a bit and footage does not look stable. even when I place my hand on top of the lens or camera body i can move it slightly up and down. this is not noticeable with wide lenses but it is a real problem with telephoto ones.

so I want to make my camera connection stable a a rock.

I have two options:

1. Use zacuto universal baseplate that I own and buy this overpriced piece of metal called zacuto z-spacer to mount my dslr (http://store.zacuto.com/Z-Spacer.html)
2. Buy redrock's dslr baseplate.

Option 1 is a bit cheaper as I already have a baseplate... but what do you think?
will swapping RC4 adapter with z-spacer make connection more sturdy or should I go with redrock's baseplate?

Thanks
