Chilean Miners Rescue Underway

i'm so happy to see these guys finally coming out. i'm truly amazed at how healthy they look. after being trapped underground for so long, i was expecting them to be in much worse shape. hell i look worse than these guys and i've never been inside a mine. :)

I heard about this a month ago, and thought, "They're not out YET?" That was a month ago. It's crazy to think they were down there so long.

A man interviewed on the BBC last night said that the high price of copper means that mining companies are willing to take bigger and bigger risks to extract it. He said that each time we use our iPods, computers, or TV sets, we should be reminded of the hard, dangerous work required to get this valuable resource.

Absolutely! The price for the relatively easy and convenient life we have is often paid by people like those miners. Not saying we should give up all the modern toys, but we should be aware that someone is providing things for us.
