Ok guys I hope this works, that is with the download and all.
This is my first post for "My Work"
This piece was the first production I did with my camera.
It was a 2nd grade end of the year assembly for the kids parents. The focus is what the children learned with in the past year. This video was shown as well as a Montage Video of the children through out the year with them singing "Here I am" from the movie "Spirit". These two was just a portion of the program.
The video is a remake of "Strangers like me" from Tarzan.

In know the Editing is not that tight, that is because all the children need to be represented in some shape or form.
We only had 3hr to shoot this and all on separate days. So I took what I had.
Boy... Try directing 28 2nd graders... That have no experience at all. It was a chore.. But I loved it was so much fun.
The kids loved it all too much... There parents bought DVD's I prepared for them...

Bryster,

For the subject matter and the intention of the video, I think it is very sweet. You are not exactly going to make a hollywood production out of something like this.

The computer screen was a nice idea. There's a shot at the end that looks like you are about to tilt down but then you do a shaky zoom...I would have cut that edit but you probably needed those particular kids in the shot...believe me, I know the dynamic. :)

Thanks for the advice... Ya I know it is not going to win me an Emmy. This was a matter of kudos that the kids gave me... I had fun doing it. The footage I had was limited, and I think the editing could have been tighter.
All the equipment I used was the first time I used it including stabilizer, and Crane. I had issues with everything... I was just about learning the quirk in the equipment i built. It is hard to mess up with the DVX.

I know this'll sound mean, but i dispise the sound of children singing... :o Even as a child i hated watching those children sing alongs in class, and Mary kate and ashley know where they can shove those tapes of theres :-X

Alright, that aside, its a pretty good childrens music video, I like the computer screen, and you got all the kids to participate which is an achievement. I didn't think the editing was bad either. Although some cool transition effecs never look out of place in these kinda things ;)

Hey thanks Cheese..
I know what you mean about the singing bit... most children have a problem singing, sometimes it's like (fingernails) on a chalk board. That was the biggest problems we had.
I’m all on board with cool transition effects.. but the teacher and I have had arguments about transitions.... She has the idea that the only transition should be fad or dissolve... I see her point in over doing an effect but we don’t see eye to eye on the transition or effect type of thing. If it were her it would have been a lot more generic.
