This is a short, not really a commercial, as we are not connected with General Motors or selling their product.
We are a Metro-Detroit Meetup production club. We film one short each month. This month we did something different and created a short story "commercial" for Halloween. General Motors World HQ was helpful and loaned us a new model car coming out next year called the Chevy Spark. The Spark has a young target buyer, which is perfect for our story and the crazy color looks great against B&W. We also asked the Detroit Zombie Walk folks for bodies-actors. The shoot was done in six hours at a very creepie graveyard. We had a ball! Total cost - about $150. Cameras were Canon 5D2, T4i, T3i (2x).
Most of the footage shot hit the editors floor as we targeted the project without credits to less than one minute. Too bad as lots of really funny stuff was cut. For example, in the end when he pumps his arm - it falls off. We provided a copy to a Chevy advertising VP and have our fingers crossed they might want to use it or help us with distribution.
Enjoy,
