Hi. Im just trying to understand how this is useful since the F3 has several 1/4 20's on it already. Are the stock ones not strong enough or something?

rusty, it is MMB-1 Arri mattebox.
hi, shoots56, F3 Berkey top has a lot of holes more than Sony originals.

When I first got the F3 I was mounting a 6" monitor onto the 1/4 20s on the body with a Noga arm. Felt like it was going to split the camera in half. I would recommend the Berkey plate if you're planning to hang anything with any weight off the camera. Very useful for getting any kind of EVF mounted in the right position also.
