Checking out a DVX100B

Might be checking out a DVX100B in the very near future, and I was wondering what kinds of questions I should ask. I honestly have never used a camera that is at this level before and am kind of intimidated. Seems like a good deal, but I don't know if there is something wrong internally that I might not be aware of. If theres any topics regarding this just let me know and you can close this one.

-Thanks in advance

I'm very new too (I've never owned a true prosumer camcorder before). I just ordered my DVX100B two days ago, and it was the best descision I ever made! Be courageous! You will NEVER look back! I suggest just getting the DVX, then, later, getting the anamorphic adapter :)

Good luck!

Read, read, read. Go through this forum and read about the camera and all the settings, then google the DVX100b and read some more. I was reading for a year then finally got the camera, when I pulled it out of the box I was already comfortable shooting with it since I knew were everything was.

READ!

Ask what kind of tapes they have used in it. If they have used mixed brands and reused tapes that's a big negative.

Also, have them go through the menu and show you the hours it has on it. I have a dvx100b that has ONLY used panasonic PQ tapes and has over 275 hours and still works perfectly.

Just have them show you how everything works. If you come across something that isn't working quite right you probably want to stay away.
