check out scene from new short

Re: check out scene from new short

interesting. I thought it needed just a little more dramatic effect. looks good though.

Re: check out scene from new short

Idea looks too much like Reservoir Dogs.

Good lighting, editing (I would've cut a little more to engage more emotion from the actors)

Suspensful.

I agree with Isreal on the music. Would've made a big difference.

Overall, pretty good.

Re: check out scene from new short

i was thinking the same thing about the music, but maybe you haven't gotten around to it yet. the rest looks solid and i'm interested to see the full short when it's done :D

Re: check out scene from new short

Dramatic...............pauses.....................[cough]....................are..................brutal.

Re: check out scene from new short

The music has not even been adressed. This is the first, rough cut. Much will change. I put it up to show the cinematography and lighting. Thanks for your replies.

Re: check out scene from new short

looks nice right now. finished and polished with some music could be real good.

Re: check out scene from new short

how did you get such fluent rotating shot in the first scene?? was it just a wheeled dolly or dolly on tracks??

Re: check out scene from new short

it was 270 degrees of dolly track. I forgot to mention that I was the director of photography, so the other comments I will pass on to the editor and director.

Re: check out scene from new short

i liked your lighting that was great, but the first cut, when he says 'bullshit,' the cuts werent good. wasnt dramatic, it was just quick. i think if you kept the hit in one cut it would have been a little better. but i must say, the lighting and dolly work were awesome.

Re: check out scene from new short

I would have used a little more light to establish setting and make the viewer more comfortable. I felt myself almost squinting to see what was going on.

Re: check out scene from new short

I was hoping the chair guy would cry.....he didn't really seem too determined to get out of the chair either....his struggling seemed very mild.
Some low-playing music in the background or something dude.....too silent!!
I like the lighting, but I think a little more would be better, because the viewer doesn't know whether its an interrogation room, a basement, a run-down warehouse, etc....
Only when you see the second cop do you see some evidence of what kind of place they are in.
Either way, I like the smooth pans...they add to the mood very nicely.
