Check out my short film

Wow, that was good work. Pretty creepy.
nice lighting & camera, good sound design, and good acting.

Excellent work. The story was very real and creepy, no doubt. You did a good job of weaving suspense and fear into the film.

Great, shooting, lighting and acting. Here are some questions for you ...

What camera settings did you use? How did you place your light set? Did you use MB (and if so, which specific filters?) Also, great talent. Where did you find them?

Again, very nicely done. I watched the whole piece without a pause.

re: short

Since I was not the DP I do not know exactly what settings were used. We used the DVX100, but beyond that I have no idea. The lights that were used were strictly from an Arri kit, so I'm guessing a couple 650s and some 300s (never used anything over 1K). I'm not sure what MB means.

Talent was secured here locally (Seattle, Washington).

I liked it...

but I have some thoughts.

a few things...

I loved the concept, I think it is a really really neat idea. What I didn't like was, the dialogue. Your telling us stuff we have already seen... much of it is like hitting the audience with a mallet.. just to make sure they got it..

eg: "It's impossible to leave this place" .. well ya no kidding.. you just showed us that the house is in a giant void..

the other thing that bothered me was the talent... except for the kid, the two adults had really forced performances..

These may seem like nitpicks, but I just finished writing a script, and a friend of mine picked his way through the whole thing with me..

I liked it, but things just felt a bit forced..

for your DP: lighting brother... i know it is a dark film.. but use the light creatively at least to create some interesting shadow work..(though I really enjoyed the lighting in the bedroom, daytime)

Anywho, I'm out.

Thanks for your reply and the lighting kit info. MB stands for Magic Bullet - a filter used in post.

Show us more of your good work when you get a chance.

Looks great, nice comp and blockings with the little girl popping up.
Reminded me of hammer horror/ twlight zone...good work fella

It just looked really good. I was mesmerized by the quality of film. solid film altogether. keep up the good work.

re: Magic Bullet

In response to the earlier post asking if I used Magic Bullet: I did not. The only things I did in post (image-wise) was tweak the RGB values and the Brightness and Contrast. It was shot in 24p mode.
