GH5 Cheapest dual IS lens for the GH5?

New to the MFT format, so if I say something stupid, let me know (as gently as possible....)

So here's my situation: I'm going to be getting just a few primes for the GH5, a 12mm Rokinon, the 25mm Panasonic 1.7, and legacy Olympus glass for 50mm and longer. If I can find one discounted, I might go for the Olympus 12-40mm pro....

That said, I'd like to have at least one lens with that awesome dual IBIS action that's possible with the GH5. One thing I can't quite figure out is if any of the older MEGA IBIS lens are capable of dual IBIS or not, or if all the newer POWER lenses are capable of it w/ the GH5.

Bottom line, I'm looking for the absolute cheapest way to get into that sweet dual IBIS. Looking at the 14-140mm f/3.5-5.6 and the 14-42mm f/3.5-5.6 II , but not entirely sure either of them will work...

Thanks for any help!

From Panasonic.

Be aware that there is also a newer version of Dual IS, Dual IS 2. Here is a list of lenses that support that function. Pay close attention to the part numbers as there are various versions of lenses that don't necessarily work with the new IS. Although I figure most of those will be out of your price range.

Get the 42.5mm f/1.7. It's the best value to image in the m43 world and the Dual IS with a GH5 works incredibly well. I shoot with it hand held quite often and have been blown away at how well the combo of ibis and ois are working with this lens. Most importantly though is it's image quality. For a $300 something dollar lens it's quite astonishing IMHO.

Yes, the Lumix 42.5mm f1.7 is great for dual-IS - a fast, fixed-length, featherweight portrait and close-up lens. The Lumix 30mm f2.8 macro is another good choice for wider shots, and supports dual-IS2 on the GH5.

Thanks for the feedback guys - will def look at that 42mm...

Looks like the older 12-60mm has dual 2.0 stabilization....

Anyone have any real world experience with this lens and the GH5?

It's a beautiful lens for sure, and talk about rock solid Dual IS (when I tested it with a G85) gave me gimbal like performance, even with the longish focal length.
