Cheaper Dvx100b?

I am interested in purchasing a Panasonic dvx100b. I have checked the internet and have seen prices as low as $1400. Turns out that there is a cheaper version which apparently is made in China.
My questions are:

How bad is this version?

Is the DVx 100 really much different than the 100b?

My budget is only $2000.

Any help with this matter would be greatly appreciated.
 
What site are you finding this 110b at? I have hear a lot of major rumblings about the China shops keeping the specs on American products and then overmake them to sell on their own and undershoot American prices for the Eastern Market and to select people in the States. Don't know if that really goes for items such as the DVX. What does everyone els think?
 
I would say look on eBay. Look for a seller with lots of positive feedback and if the camera has a warranty then it's a plus. I got my DVX-100 for 1700 with 290 hours on the heads and 5 months left on the Mack Warranty, and there are lots of better deals to be had. A used DVX in nice condition will be easier and safer to aquire than one from a dealer in China.
 
It's a scam. I'm not even going to elaborate, because this has been discussed thousands of times. Just do a search.

If it sounds too good to be true, it is.
 
Ive said a dozen times. If you go with ebay, buy from ElectronicMax. They have a really good reputation. also, look on here in the marketplace section. Theres always fellow DVX users wanting to help out people getting started. When I buy mine in March, Im more than likely going to buy from here.

You more than likely wont find a DVX100B for less than 2500, but there have been DVX100A's on here for around 2000, if not less.
