Cheap Vest/Arm Camera stabilizer, which way to go?

I have been trying to get a camera stabilizer for ever and due to tight budget, I think any of these 2 will be the way to go. I have heard a lot about the smooth shooter but I noticed this other guy on ebay that has a vest and a arm for sale.
His product sells between $500 - $700 and with the Glidecam rid, probably about $900 buck for the whole thing which is still $500 bucks cheaper than the smooth shooter.
Taking the calculation analysis away, what about performance?. It seems the guy has some sales on ebay, but has anyone in here tried this product before? It is called the M516 Arm & Vest.

I was afraid to create a new topic...

So I guess I'll just add my question.

Is there a decent sub-3k steadicam vest/harness rig? Linkage!

STAY AWAY from the M516 arm/vest!!

Don't know if it's a scam or not, but the guy selling it has been cought out many times on many forums tryign to underhanddly promote the product "as a happy customer" They have also admitted to lying in their sales pitch. For example 'some' (all?) of the shots in their demo also have had stabilaztion software used on teh footage - plus som of the "stabilizer" shots have been shot from dollies etc - that smooth move back, notice the difference in teh shadows, not the same shot as the PIP.

Their dirty salemanship combined with their obvious lack of knowledge with stabilizers (they are holding the wring toally wrong [at the bottom of the post) makes them someoen to definatly stay clear of.

"decent" system under $3k? there's a couple, but i've yet to fly one that was "good". All depends on what camera (and accesories) you wish to carry, plus what you want to shoot?
For a lot of situations there's teh "Steadicam Mini" which steadicam have a few used units up on thier site (www.steadicam.com) for just around $3k, and the used prices are negotibale I'm sure.

Glidecam Smooth Shooter Support System for use with the 4000 Stabilizing system...

Is that a good one?

Two low cost systems I've used successfully with both a DVX100 and an XL1 are:

and
http://www.magiqcam.com/

Well, regarding the magiqcam, that was more than one year ago,
Over the last 12 months I've heard horror stories about deliveries being delayed by several months and magiqcam not answering emails. I don't know what the current situation is.

I find it interesting that both sites have blond rather petit women using the setups. Most steady cam operators I have seen are beefy guys. The one woman I worked with that used one had to put on a bunch of layers to get thick enough for the vest to get tight...
