Cheap replacement Arri switch?

I was recently given a damaged Arri 650.
It's mostly repaired now but it's lacking a switch.
The replacements seem to sell for around $20+shipping.

Does anyone have any ideas for a DIY replacement?
Would a household switch of some sort be usable?

You can go to home depot and buy any switch rated for 650w. I'm surprised it's only 20 bucks though! Thats cheap for an arri part.

I remember being in similar predicament and ordered arris and coollights - guess which one i had to replace soon after again?

I had a cool lights switch on one of my PAR cans (with a firestarter, so maxing out the 10a rating) get stuck in the on position yesterday. Somehow simply pulling out the faston connectors got it un-stuck. I think with a 650 you might be fine with the cool lights switch though, not nearly as much current for the contacts to handle.

I've got a couple of Richard's 300 fresnels, and I also put some of his switches (same as the 300's) on some Altman 650's. All of 'em have been fine, decent heavy-duty switch. For a while there his shipping made it silly to buy a couple small parts, but give it a try, that may have changed.

The hardware store switches... ehhh. The in-lines that will handle 10 amps are brittle plastic and really hard to work with, there's just not enough room for decent gauge of wire and they'll die pretty fast in a work environment, but your wire sleeve will have pulled out long before, exposing the individual colored leads which will make clients/grips a little nervous.

You can use a household switch in a metal enclosure (with the proper cable clamps, etc) but then you have a 3" x 2" x 2" metal box hanging off your fixture. A "real" switch is the best path here. The metal Mole switches are great, too.
