Cheap MINI DV camcorder as DV deck only

I just picked up a new Canon ZR100 from Dell for just under $200 (after $30 rebate) specifically for this purpose. The reason I chose this cam over other cameras (besides price) were the Analog<-->Digital Converter which isn't present on many cheaper cams.

I decided to buy a new camera instead of a used camera off ebay since I wanted to use it mainly as a deck for capturing and printing to tape, and I just felt more comfortable paying for a camera that didn't alread have hours logged on the tape transport.

does that canon work with fcp and does it have timecode?
I second your question. Maybe I don´t remember correctly, but wasn´t there a problem with Canon camcorders and FCP?

AFAIK, it has timecode

I haven't had the chance to try it on FCP yet, as I've just received it, and my main NLE is Vegas (PC). Works great so far tho :)
