Cheap iris control/ccu alternative for HPX370

Anyone know of a cheaper alternative than the AG-EC4G to control the iris for the HPX370? I know that to begin with it is pretty cheap but I am looking for something even cheaper that does even less. Any ideas?

I tend to find that the cheapest alternative is to plonk a cameraman on the camera to do it, seriously though on outside broadcasts even with full pro camera's where there is no CCU this tends to be the only option to my knowledge.

It may be that a custom controller just for iris could be made but you would need to know the pin assignments and what is required for any power etc, it may be though that it is just a simple control circuit that as shaft encoder could control, I will ask one of my camera engineering gurus and see what they say as it would be a useful thing to have in the kit bag!

I completely agree (hence my question). Analogize it to the HVX or HMC iris control (I know that those cameras are completely different). Any help you can provide would be appreciated.
