Cheap Cam to Capture From. Issues?

I have a DVX100A and to hold down the hours I'm going to get a cheap camcorder off eBay to capture from.

Can I use such a cam to transfer anything other than standard video? Any problems with 24P, PA, etc.?

I thought I'd get a fairly new Panasonic. Any reason to do so other than shared accessories like charger and battery?

I always use Pannie Master tape. Any issues running the tape in two different cameras, one that might have had any old tape/lubrication run through it? (I'm thinking if I capture in the cheap camera and put the tape back in the DVX.)

MiniDV is Mini DV - it will play back anything the DVX will record.

Your only concern is that switching tape issue. Keep teh deck cmaera clean and follow the same tape use rules as with your DVX to prevent cross contamination and you will be set.
