im currently scouring ebay for a cheapy 2nd cam to also use as a deck
what im after is something i can set up near a drumkit for instance on stage so i can have cutaways to edit into footage, audio is irrelevant as i ll mix audio from soundboard, but i need something that will work pretty well in low light.
any suggestions out there, needs to be cheap mind.

A Vari-Cam will do. $60,000 low enough for you? Just joking. I would go to Circuit City and find the best Single Chip camera there. Panasonic would be my choice. I don't know what kind of size your looking at but the AG-DVC7 is Single Chip, light weight, and for what it is, it's cheap.

60,000 for a Varicam - I wish!

by the time you buy all the extras you need it'll be more like 80 to 90 grand. Kinda like the car ads for only 299 a month but there aren't any on the lot.

glenurse used ok? I have a sony pc330 which is great, but I only use it for home video stuff. But its good in very low light.

More specifically, it's a 1/3" CCD with 3,310,000 million total pixels. Of those, it uses 3,050,000 pixels for stills, and 2,050,000 pixels for videos.

If you get Panasonic though you can interchange batteries with your dvx.
