Cheap 10" HDMI LCD

Here is small prelemitary review for Leadstar LD-1088 .

From hardware standpoint it is best cheap LCD screen for movie makers.
Processor : MST719DU-LF
LCD : CLAA102NA0ACW (1024x600 resolution)
Battery : 7.4V 2300mAh
Metal 1/4" mount.
Two speakers and headphone amp (with metal socket) to check sound.
I don't go to tuner, SD card player, etc as it is not very important here.
To be short, you can check your JPEG files just by inserting SDHC card. Interface here is not good.

Image quality:
Above average for portable devices.
I like the colors.
Unit has ability to set color temperature and many other parameters for HDMI input.
Menu can be set to be almost transparent and position can be adjusted.

From software standpoint it is not all good.
First. EDID must be changed by manufacturer.
I suggest to set HDMI format to 720p60 on GH1 (as this works fine most of the time).
Sometimes GH1 go to infinite cycle trying to establish HDMI connection (turn modes wheel to go out of this and try again) on 1080i or auto modes.
Second and most important. Unit has overscan. So, framing is slightly off and also sharpness is not so good.
Using VGA it don't have any overscan, so it is HDMI only thing.

My unit is mounted on http://cgi.ebay.com/Telescopic-Arm-...118?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item53d73d5b76 .
This thing is very good for it's purpose.

I basically just needed it to frame my shots and review footage... When "Funds" are better, I'll invest in a better one..

live HDMI out while recording would be a great addition to an already WONDERFUL hack.

i am pretty happy shooting with the EVF, LCD and a hoodman.
"size doesn't matter its what you do with it that counts"

come on guys all true superheros have a flaw, this is ours.

i had to add this in also...
"if your gonna shoot, shoot! don't talk!" "tuco" the good the bad and the ugly

Got some response from company producing this thing.
They promised to improve product and fix some issues.

Anyone speaking Chinese here? As it seems that they have problems with english communication.

Vitaliy: Would some more donations help to get HDMI monitoring while recording? I suppose you have all you need at this point as you've done some wonderful work, but I'm willing to cough up some cash.

I'm being somewhat selfish here as I have no interest in the GH2 as I'm still coming to grips with the GH1. I don't find the technical limitations of the GH1 to be limiting my "artistic" expression, such as it is, but I'm all for making things easier and more flexible. External monitoring would certainly make things easier as my aging eyes have trouble with the small LCD screen on the GH1.

I am working on this and will make few experiments this weekend.
But I think that we are not near solution today.
Generally we went by proper way, making tools first.
IDE is already suitable. Few IDC scripts also.
PTool needs update to support third party patches. This'll be finished soon.
More parts of firmware will be opened to third party developers.

I got the Lilput and when talk is "the best around for the price" that doesn't mean it's usefull. Actually, I found it completely useless even back in the HV30 days. The lack of flip screen on the Canon's could _possibly_ justify buying crap like this for framing, but seriously... if you buy this kinda stuff you are obviously not interested in having a usefull tool but rather make your rig look cool. Yeah, truth stings...

What is this?
Some mental disorder?
