Chasin' tail

Very fun watch, thou some of the camera angles did not always work for me.
Cute little kitty.
That weapons wall knocked me of my socks. Looks like it´s straight of the "Man in Black" collection.

Are all that weapons yours?

Frank

Thanks for the comments Frank. Point taken on the camera angles. That's something I didn't even notice as it was happening. I'm gonna work on my camera work for the next one. (and a number of other things :) )

Are all that weapons yours?

Of course, the weapons are all fake, but I do wish I had a wall like that! :)

Not a bad film. Your lead actor's performance was pretty strong. Everybody elses' was ok. Technical was decent for the most part. The biggest nitpick for me is all of the dutch angle shots. Too many. Maybe a little music during the first part of the film. It was good to have a kinetic slapstick comedy. Thanks for sharing!

From your responses in this thread you seem to be willing to handle some of the harsher criticisms, so if it's appropriate I'd like to call it as I saw it here, even though it's not all good. I'm as much a student as anyone else so please take my critique for what it's worth (which is exactly what you paid for it).

Honestly, I was hating this movie in the first two minutes. I was noticing lighting and sound issues and was having a really hard time getting into the story. It wasn't until he began the chase that I started to enjoy the movie a little bit.

When he called the cop I cracked up at the arsenal on the wall. That comedic bit really hit the nail on the head.

When he first is crossing the street and almost gets hit by the VW, I was expecting an After-Effects-style car hit. When he DID get hit in the alley, I thought that the way it was put together was really cute and added to the humor.

Some of the chase scene shots seemed to be redundant and I think it could have been tightened-up a bit. I don't know how I would have handled it, but it didn't seem to flow all that well.

Once I got into the main character a little bit I liked his facial reactions and acting a bit more, but I thought woman's acting was lacking. I thought there were too many Dutch angles and if those had been been limited a bit more they might have added a nice accent to the visuals of the film.

I think that the story for this film was fairly simple (which is fine) and could have been told in a shorter time. The beginning really seemed to drag on.

I hope that I'm not being overly harsh with my comments, I see real potential in your filmmaking and am really looking forward to what you come up with next. Comedies are so hard to do, and this film does have some really classic moments. The car hit with his look in the window, his legs kicking, him flying off the car, the wall of guns, and his final reaction when the cat comes up to him in the window are all awesome. I thought the music was appropriate and a nice compliment to the movie.

I'm really looking forward to your next movie.

It's LATE, but I made a commitment to watch, rate, and comment on all the films before nights end. At this point, I've only got time to watch & rate, so I'm simply letting you know I've done so for yours.

If you'd like a specific review of your film, please just PM me to catch my attention, and I'd be glad to come back here & post a review. :)

Thanks for your remarks, John (as well as everyone else.) Your critique is welcome, and well-received. I recognized some of the areas that need improvement, and I'm really eager to do another project just to focus attention on those issues. I think that my own analysis of this work is not too far off from what I'm hearing in the comments here, so I'm glad that there's not a lot of surprises, and at least I'm headed the right direction. It's also a positive thing that some people have found humor or entertainment value in the piece, too.

One of the great things about this board is the depth of knowledge and experience that the members have, and the tremendous amount of talent here. It really helps to have such well-informed members provide opinions and suggestions (de facto professional consultation, for free no less :) ).

I hope you'll continue to take the time to share your opinions with me and others. It is appreciated.

Best Regards,
Russell
