I'm seeking a cinematographer or DP, lighting person and sound person for an upcoming Christian feature film project.
Last year our church made a short Christmas film called 'Losing Christmas'. Cast and crew were mainly church members. I produced, directed and edited. It turned out much better than expected, and was VERY well received. The only complaint we heard was "It wasn't long enough!"
So now we're in development on a sequel -- "Finding Christmas". Which will be a feature-length movie. All of the original cast and crew are coming back, plus more characters, more locations, more storylines. Our goal is to secure distribution of the finished movie, so our message will reach a much wider audience. We don't care if the movie doesn't make a profit, we just want it widely seen.
The story takes place beginning the day after the events in the first film -- all of which took place on Christmas Eve -- and runs through the year and into the next Christmas season, where the meat of the story takes place. So we will be shooting at different times throughout the year -- some fairly soon, others in Spring, Summer and Fall, and a lot of it when Winter comes around again.
Our crew was nearly all novices, and they did extremely well. But if we want to get distribution, then we're going to need better production values this time. We don't really know what kind of budget we'll have -- "Losing Christmas" had virtually no budget at all, but we hope to do better than that. We will be shooting in and around Gastonia, NC, which is just west of Charlotte.
"Losing Christmas" is online, but not easily found. If you want to see it, let me know and I'll post a link.
If you're interested in considering working on "Finding Christmas" with us, please message me and let's talk about it.
Thanks!
