title says it all:
is there a recommendation for a charger for faster charging of the Core SWX Nano-VBR98 batteries?
The EVA-1 charger takes ages to charge 3 batteries. Many thanks
With the help of Zak from the FB group I found out that the original charger charges both batteries at the same time. But charges only one in quick charge mode and the other at regular charge until the first one is done. Then that switches over to quick charge. this is what the lights on the charger mean:
green: quick charge
amber: normal charge
no light: charged
For the Core SWX Nano-VBR98 it takes about 4hrs for quick charging one battery. If I don't want to get up at night in the hotel for charging 4 batteries I need a second one anyhow. I'd prefer charger with a direct wall plug, not with an extra 12V adapter like the AG-BRD50E
The only ones I know of are SWIT and IDX. I bought the IDX one. Same speed. Does have the extra adapter.
Not sure you'll have an option there.
I have 6 batteries and dual chargers to ensure staying ahead of things. That's your other option. If you can't charge fast enough, have a couple extra batteries.
thanks for this information. I ordered the SWIT http://www.swit.cc/productshow.aspx?id=195 now. It's way cheaper and as far as I can see it has multiple power input 110-230V.
The IDX was slightly more but I purchased for its interchangeable charge units - can be used and repurposed for canon and Sony as well, so more versatile and long term. I always bring a voltage adapter(s) and then plug an extension cord into that for powering items.
Just be aware that these 3rd party chargers don’t coomincate with the battery the same way the Panasonic one can. This means that they can take dramatically longer to charge the batteries as they do not offer the same fast mode.
