greetings all,

i was playing with my dvx100a in low light and i noticed that there looked to be some gain bieng applied to the picture. i looked into the auto sw menu and the AGC (auto gain control) is locked (in blue lettering) at 6db. i was wondering what setting i have to change to turn the AGC off, because i'm not a big fan of gain (at any level).

thanks,
-brad

I have a similar problem. Normally there is no BLUE lettering. I have the AGC also in BLUE which seems to mean you can't adjust it. Every other menu choice uses red and green, never BLUE. Any answers?

Gain can only operate if you have the AUTO button pressed. If you don't have the green "A" icon, you're not in auto mode, and no automatic gain will be applied.

I turned both of my gain switch off. Just light your stuff and open up that iris, you can shoot 1/24 is you don't mind quite a bit of speed blur. I used it to shoot a city scape on a tripod, so everything was static, and it looked great. It's when you add motion and handheld camera work.
