Channel 1 and 2

I switched Channel 1 to INTL' and Channel 2 to INPUT 1 (my boom) --- my question is this: will the boom be in the right speaker and the intl' be in the left (it appears to be this way through my headphones plugged into the camera during the shoot)

any help?

Yep that'd be correct. But don't you mean, channel 2 to input 2? Thats the only input you can select for channel 2. If you look closely at the Channel input switches next to Channel 1 on the INT it has in parenthesis L for left.

yes, youre right. im not sure that i like that... i guess the mixing has to be done during post then if you want it to be otherwise. i suppose that keeps the tracks separate?

I'm not a big fan of having audio to come out of just one side unless its used to get the effect of a noise coming from a certain area. Well i just did a test and when played back directly from the camera say on a television the audio corresponds with the left or right channel the way it was recorded, however when I import into FCP although the audio is split into two seperate tracks/channels corresponding to how they were recorded, they will still play back through both speakers. So if your using your boom mic to record dialgoue on input 2 and your using the INT left for say background noise or whatever, you can edit your video and output it so that you wont just hear the dialogue on the right.

I did a lot of editing to my above post while I was playing around in FCP, but I'm done now. Hopefully that makes sense, and if anyone see's anything that needs clearing up or correcting, please, go ahead and do so.
