Changing tape mode to LP

I was wondering. I have a wedding coming up in a week, and it is a Catholic wedding so it may be drawn out, and thought that I would see what changing the tape mode from SP to LP would do in terms of extra minutes on the tape, and the possible change in quality of recording. If I could get some knowledgeabe advise on this, it would be much appreciated. I don't want to jepordize the quality of the recording, but don't want the tape to possibly run out before the ceremony. Also, wasn't sure how many minutes changing to LP adds to the normal Panasonic 60 minute tape.
Thanks

Using the LP mode will increase your recording time but you will be WAY more succeptible to dropouts in your footage - I guess it depends on how much risk you are willing to take

I personally wouldn't risk it - If you are only using 1 camera, just prep a few tapes beforehand (record 10-15s of colour bars at the start, label them sequentially and leave them ready to drop into the camera when you need them)
