Busy year for me in 2011 with some commercial projects and a doco on the go, so rather than write / direct / shoot any of my own shorts I shot four for other people. Was a fun experience concentrating on only one component in a narrative shoot and also served as a nice blow out from my day to day.
Cant share the whole short here as its not mine but I have permission to throw out some stills.
I enjoyed this one as a challenge as it was shot in a small hotel room and I didnt want to budge to meet the size, I wanted the look that was required which presented a challenge. There is one shot where I had six lights going plus practicals. I used the Sekonic L-758 Cine to light everything you see here.
I also graded this particular piece. These probably wont show up in correct order of appearance and Ive deliberately left out some components so as not to let any storyline show through - though Im sure you'll get the theme.
