Changing a 6 pin to a 12 pin lens connector

Several people have talked about updating a 6 pin to 12 pin connector on a lens. I know where to get the proper hirose connector to do this and I am a decent solderer but where do I find the proper pin configuration to attach the 6 wires in the new 12 pin connector?

It just uses the same configuration as the 6 pin connector, but instead of using all 12 pins, you just use the first 6. So in other words, pins 1-6 on the 6 pin = pins 1-6 on the 12 pin.
Hope that helps.

Oh, I completely understand. Nobody really "knew" when I was trying to do it, so I talked to the head engineer at Canon about it, so that's how I know.

Hi Kitt,
I'm no good at soldering so when I needed to do this I bought the "Adapter" was about $200, was easy way out. part number ECF-124 B.

Yeah, I didn't want to pay for the adapter for multiple lenses. $90 and a little work or $600... I saved the $510 for a tank of gas :-)

Hi Kit
wish me eyes were good enough to solder those small Hirose connectors, had to solder a broken 26pin camera cable years ago, what a nightmare.
I must be getting on..
