Change the World With Just One Click? Do It!

PK, great work!
The site looks better than when you demoed it a few weeks ago. :-)

Homepaged and bannered up on my website too.

DVXuser to the rescue, once again. The website statistics just quadrupled. It has begun. Thanks to all of you we've started something special. ...But that doesn't mean I want to be "more than friends" with you. ...Lets keep this professional, so things don't get weird.

Thanks again everyone. Keep the hits coming and soon we'll be able to see the concept in action.

Hi PK, that will be my homepage from now on! One request, copy MSN News headlines on there, since that is usually the first thing I read.

Rush - Thanks. I might be able to borrow MSN headlines temporarily. But once the site is completely independent (no google search, etc.) then the MSN headlines would have to go. Sorry. ...Or maybe we could create a special Rush page, just for you. IF you throw a certain new camera my way. :)

 Well... Maybe a DVXuser battery :cheesy:

Well hey, how about just a link then, that would be cool, one click away from MSN headlines.

Thanks Weston and Rush.

I honestly feel this concept can work. But we need everyone to tell as many people as possible. You know the video of the two asian guys lip-synching to Backstreet Boys? That was seen by millions of people because people kept forwarding it to friends, family, and in countless forums. That video made people feel good and, hopefully, this website can do the same. Please do what you can to get the word out. Let's make people feel good by giving them the power to make a difference. For FREE!!!! :)

Thanks to everyone who has already made it their homepage. The statistics have jumped a lot in the past 2 days because of you. If you have any suggestions on how to improve the site please don't hesistate to tell me.

PK, you know how to get hat kind of traffic, right? Make your own backstreet-boys-caliber viral video. You're a very talented filmmaker; put something irresistible together and host it on your main webpage. If you make something as wonderful as the asian lip-synch video, you'll have hundreds of thousands of visitors, and every one of them will see your cause and your message. Come on, use your powers for good!

Good suggestion, Barry.

PK - I see talent auditions in your near future.

edit: Daniel - I just read your post. Is there a way to go around that Catch 22?

Daniel - I contacted my webhost, globat, about partnering (I'd give them a "Hosted by Globat" credit) but they kept on trying to to get me to upgrade. :(

Terry - Thanks for the November Pimp My Site Award. ...And to think, my parents, therapists, and guidance counselors never said I would amount to anything. :)

Barry Green - That's a great idea! The site needs a novelty to bring an audience in. If you're 10k video wasn't full of inside jokes it would have been perfect! (By the way, I hear the Apache song everytime I goto this one restaurant at the top of a hotel. I guess it's the one foreign song the dj has. I think of your video everytime I hear it.) I'll start thinking of ideas for a funny/weird video.

Maybe if you contact their HQ rather than customer service or whoever. If you throw up a video that goes viral in popularity, you won't have any charity money left. I know a fellow who had a few humble little videos on his website that only a small handfull of us enjoyed....one day Jimmy Kimmel told the world about one of them and a few days later the guy got a bill for $2500 from his host. Surely to goodness someone out there would host it for you for an ad exchange. It is indeed a great idea but it carries the danger of huge bandwidth suckage. BTW, I'm talking mainly about the video idea (a la Barry Green) but it just occured to me the site in and of itself could run into a similar problem. Once it gets to a certain point, youre gonna need some serious hosting....probably far beyond what Globat will offer for a reasonable fee.

Have you considered getting in touch with Google HQ and talking to the real deal big boys about helping? They might could even help you with a special deal that would enable you to keep Google search on your site...which would rock, and they might help with hosting. They do seem to be a pretty cool company. Heck, theyre doing some kinna deal that pays one dollar for every Firefox download to somebody...dont quite understand it though.

Thanks Daniel. I'm sure Google wouldn't mind us using their search sense they'll make money from it too. That's what I want to avoid. But hey, didn't Yahoo use Google results for a while? Years ago before Google surpassed them in popularity. Hmmmmmm I bet Yahoo is banging their heads now. :)
