Change quickly between HD and audio only recording?

It has been answered before somewhere here; there is no way to record audio only. Damn it. But can anyone come up with an idea how to QUICKLY change between a HD 1080/xx and a SD mode to waste less P2 storage while recording audio only?

Don't tell me to record to tape. What do I have P2 for?

Come one, everyone is doing extra recordings for audio! How do you do this? Wasting gigabytes of storage and shoot 'em in HD with lens cap on?

Audio in SD or HD takes so liittle space, and no there is no fast way to do it. If looking to take the lease amount of space you need to consider your timeline and the frequency of that. If you are working in 24PN, the only format that would take less space would be DV. But if you are going to try and put that audio into a 60i timeline, that would be a mistake.
