Change Focus by Wire

We all know the current m4/3 lens manual focus by wire is a pain in the a__.

Is there any way to hack the firmware (body or lens) to:

1) focus by direct movement (1:1) of the ring instead of the focus by wire (which is based on the speed of movement)

and /or

2) when focusing, do NOT make the LCD display 2x larger as everything is now grainy. Let us choose to go 2x larger when pressing the dial button.
