Ch.2 XLR issue

I was shooting with my DVX-100a today when we had an audio issue on Ch.2 XLR input. We had set tone on the camera first thing and all was fine. We moved to our first location and realized we were not getting audio on Ch.2. The settings were on line level, Ch.1 and Ch.2 split. If we brought the Ch.2 pot all the way up we could hear audio but it was really weak and thin. We switched the cables to prove it was on the camera end and not the mixer or breakaway cable.

Any suggestions?
