CES 2019: ‘8K Is Getting Real’

And the ever “decreasing” spectrum available for wireless. I had about $6K in wireless recently become “illegal”, because of the last spectrum auction. And probably at least another $30K that could go away, depending on what the FCC feels like selling next time...

I've lost quite a few grand too. Threw out a couple of Audio Technica AT-100 700MHz systems the other day when cleaning out cabinets, best inexpensive wireless systems of their day.
I wish I had more friends who shot in Europe, I could have at least given them to someone who might have been able to use them outside the US. Stupid, corrupt FCC administrations.
Doesn't matter who has been in the White House over the past decade, the FCC had been intent on screwing us wireless audio users regardless and auctioning off the airwaves to cell companies.

Yep. "Public Airwaves" my a...

At least the Lectro stuff can be re-blocked, but everyone is ending up in the same (small) chunk of spectrum. You can't go anywhere now and expect a completely clean band. Most of the time it's find the frequency with the weakest signal on it and keep the Tx and Rx as close as possible. I remember 1/2 mile to mile ranges out of some Lectro's back in the 90's. You're doing something to get from one sideline to the other at a football game now with normal antenna's. Even being frequency co-ordinated/having assigned frequencies at certain events/venue's, we still find stuff on our freq.'s all the time.

You guys are aware of quantum entanglement (QE) right? Coupled photons (or electrons or other particles) can be used to communicate across any distance. Think sub-space from the SciFi world (except it's actually real). Perfectly secure communications with no interference. Not available to the public (public disclosure is only across fiber optics at this point- not useful for wireless: https://phys.org/news/2015-11-physicists-quantum-photons-messages-electrons.html ). And we're stuck with cell-damaging microwave and other forms of EM radiation (that use a lot of power: QE systems don't need power for transmission (just need to maintain the QE particles and a low-power processor to read the state changes)).

Damn..was thinking of getting into these sorts of events precisely because of supposed freq coordination.
So no enforcement?

Never even heard of this, interesting. But probably quite a few years out for what we would use it for?

I think it’s been around for a long time; the technology has been hidden from the public. That said, limited disclosure is happening, including a Chinese satellite test: https://sputniknews.com/asia/201608191044415612-china-quantum-teleportation/

Note mainstream science states that supraluminal communication is impossible, because it would allow information to be sent backwards (and forwards) in time. Imagine a space ship going really fast, time slows down for the ship relative to people on Earth. Messages sent from the ship to Earth would be going back in time, while messages sent from Earth to the ship would be going into the future. This causes problems with current beliefs regarding causality, however perhaps not really any more than the Quantum Eraser, which has been tested in the lab where the 'past' is rewritten:

Some people think the Mandela Effect ( https://mandelaeffect.com/ ) is the result of happenings at CERN ( https://mandelaeffect.com/2019-cern-and-the-mandela-effect/ ). I used to be skeptical about these things, now am open minded since the universe gets more and more interesting with each new discovery (at both the quantum and cosmic scales). This is an interesting discussion about the very base level of reality: http://www.quantumgravityresearch.org/portfolio/a-deep-link-between-3d-and-8d . This is math/geometry that matches experiment. Notable is the clock speed or frame rate of the universe itself: 1/Planck-Time. The reality pixels (tetrahedrons in 3-space) are quantized to the Planck Length. While it could be another illusion, the universe at the base level appears to be very much like an infinite virtual reality simulation (running in 8 dimensions, per the E8 hypothesis. String/M Theory is 11 dimensions: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Introduction_to_M-theory ).

So if we all cease to exist one day it might be the fault of Youtube’s quantum entanglement high framerate 8k streaming tech. I guess I’ll see you all in the void.

That kind of stuff fascinates me, jcs. Some of it I pretend to understand and some I wonder what kind of drugs I would have to take to pretend to understand. And then I wonder what kind of drugs those that came up with the ideas and theories took to come up with those ideas and theories.

It's just the GH5s/E2 sensor with Quad Bayer output unlocked. 11bit ADC in 8K, it's a trade-off between image quality and pure resolution.

OK then the image won't be any better than what I currently get on my p4k, so, pass. I still love the physical design, though. That flip screen <3

Yes and No. Some venues/organizations are more diligent than others and will actually enforce it(confiscate equipment, pull credentials, etc.) and others don’t. I’ve also had frequencies “double booked”. Earlier in the NFL season we were on the field waiting for the game to finish to do post and an NFL Films crew comes up to my audio guy and says they think he’s on their freq. we walk over and my audio guy gives them the freq’s were operating on and they were like, yeah you’re on one of our frequencies. Being as we were about to get busy and I knew my stuff was legal, because I had set frequencies that were assigned for the year I said no, you’re on our frequency and proceeded to pull out the paperwork, because I keep it in the mixer bag for just such occasions. We were in the right, but my audio guy changed freq’s anyway to keep the peace and I got an apology from the frequency co-ordinator later, because it was his fault. I was also a little miffed at my audio guy, because it was our second channel that they other crew was on and I don’t know why he wasn’t using the #1 channel transmitter to begin with.

And then there is just the RF in the environment that they can’t control(outside the venue, etc.).

Through meditation and breath work (e.g certain forms of yoga) it’s possible to increase the body’s endogenous (‘made by the body itself’) DMT production to expand consciousness. The discovery of the shape of DNA as well as the polymerase chain reaction (PCR: used to amplify DNA which changed the genetics industry forever) were both the result of LSD. As noted earlier, DMT can also have profound mental and spiritual healing effects.

In the tech world, there’s been a trend for microdosing: https://www.scientificamerican.com/article/scientists-are-starting-to-test-claims-about-microdosing/ . Folks in the yoga world urge the avoidance of exogenous sources (outside the body), and recent research shows there’s also 5HT receptors in the heart and other organs whereby potential problems could arise from long term usage. There’s also many folks on YT talking about mushrooms with no new revelations about reality after very high doses (probably not a good idea, especially long term). I think everyone should study DMT (see the doc: ‘DMT the Spirit Molecule’) and altered states of consciousness (can also be facilitated with e.g. 4-7 Hz drums and meditation) as it tends to promote a deeper understanding of the universe and mutual kindness between people. As with healing addiction, PTSD, etc., these are only tools (+ potentially harmful), and daily mind work / good habits are needed for long term change and benefits.

Going way the hell off topic is part of DVXUser's charm. It's a selling point in my book. ;-)
Lol.
So, how does 8k contribute to the depravity of mankind?
And what's you guys favorite flavor of ice cream?
And what's this clicking sound coming from my hmc 150?!
:)

Seriously though. Good thread and info. I'm learning

8K promotes needless GAS, not only in pros but also in consumers, leading to mass cash shortages to run society, donate to charity and grease local, state and federal governments with the bribes and extortionary income they need to survive. Society then breaks down, leading a Mad Max-like future where everyone is aspiring to 24k, 8k instantly becomes an also ran format with as much desirability as VHS.

Ice cream? Pecan Crunch or 31 Flavors Jamoca

The clicking sound is your camera's immmenent demise, all Panasonic fixed-lens cameras click before they die, it's their death knoll!
