I doubdt 4K will be in low cost bracket. Sounds like an enthusiast thing. Though, i prefer the look and wish it were the standard. May have been movie politics that kept that away, may have just been a technical one. But movie theaters have been keeping their formats separate from consumer tv's since the earliest days. We probably wouldn't have anamorphic if it weren't for tv, right? For TV's, is anything happening in the low-cost, true 4K front (as opposed to UHD)? I know that last year LG was selling a true 4K, but people weren't crazy about it.
One thing you probably can count on... 5K+ OLED with very thin boarders. You'll get your sharpness, and your aspect without the glowing "black" letter box of LCD. Something to consider.
A cheap 4K tv just doesn't sound like it would have a big market, driving up the economies of scale. I would prefer a 16:9 5k OLED, to a true 4K LCD with color uniformity issues. Letter boxing doesn't bother me if: it is really black, and there is no loss of resolution. But, the big but, is if OLED prices come down much more. So, i am sorry to not answer your question at all. Just food for thought.
