Dvinfo found images of the new Sony stuff. This is the first image of the Sony 4K Actioncamera. The $500 X100V is a 4K actioncamera with image stabilization which will be in Store by February. It costs $100 more than the GoPRO4 but unlike the GoPro the Sony comes with on lens stabilization. Keep in mind that the GoPRO Hero4 is the most sold overall(!) camera at Amazon US (ranking here). Let’s see if Sony can succeed to dethrone that hotseller!
There is also a new AX33 4K camcorder that will go on sale for $1,100 AX33 in February.
No E or E-mount stuff will be announced today. But we will not have to wait a long time. Only 4 weeks until the next Sony press announcement before CP+

The new FDR-AX33 model is Sony's first 4K camcorder feature the acclaimed Balanced Optical SteadyShot (B.O.SS) image stabilization technology, which ensures that 4K video output is smooth, stable and blur-free at focal lengths ranging from wide-angle to extended telescopic zoom. This is particularly useful during 4K shooting, where stabilization is often a challenge due to the immense amount of data in each frame. 4K video can be recorded by the camera in the advanced XAVC S video format at an extremely high bit rate of 100 Mbps[SUP]2[/SUP], allowing each frame to be packed with extraordinary detail and with minimal distortion thanks to high speed sensor readout .

For the more advanced videographers, the new 4K camcorder includes a customizable manual ring and manual button that can be assigned to key functions like zoom, focus and exposure adjustments etc. The camera is equipped with a high-performance electronic viewfinder approximately three times the resolution of previous models, and a beautiful 3.0" Wide Xtra Fine LCD WhiteMagic™ display that performs admirably in all shooting environments including bright sunlight.

Post shooting, 4K video content shot with the FDR-AX33 camcorder can be played back directly on a compatible 4K television through the supplied HDMI cable, or in super-sampled Full HD is connected to an HDTV. The camcorder can also 'trim' 4K images from video frames, enlarging a chosen portion of the frame to fill the screen with Full HD quality. In this mode, trimming size can be changed with zoom lever or on-screen icon [SUP]3[/SUP].

Also, with support of 4K still image capture, users can extract and save 8.3 MP still images from 4K movie footage without impacting the impressive 4K video quality.

We'll aint that the cutest little chubby 4k camera....

and looks like the p35 will be the same thing but with a projector, spotted in a few frames of that video

hmmm, i was expecting the 1/2.3", but yea, that does show 1", it would certainly mean a direct comparison to the ax100 is in order.

CNET also says 1/2.3 sensor. I was hoping for 1" but for the price and features, not gonna happen.

Why did they use a 20mp sensor? That is going to increase rolling shutter surely. 11mp is more than adequate for a secondary stills function. Just looks like laziness to me.

Cinema5D AX33 prototype test with sample video. http://www.cinema5d.com/exclusive-sony-fdrax33-4k-handycam/

Here is a short list of what I liked:
-Good autofocus in video mode
-Good Balanced Optical SteadyShot
-Nice smooth “change focus” possibility by pressing the accurate touch screen
-The ability to achieve smooth slow in/out zoom while using the variable rocker
-Long lasting battery
-Clever hidden USB cable for external charging
-Sony’s professional XLR attachment (XLR-K2M) can be attached and be used for greater audio flexibility
-XAVC-S codec
-24/25p switchable
-Mic in and manual audio control
-Headphone jack
-“Quick camera start-up” by pulling the EVF out
-“Build in” projector which guaranty to fascinate your little kids

What could be (much) improved:
-Less the satisfactory lowlight video quality
-“In camera” charging
-Low quality EVF
-EVF diopter is poorly placed on the right hand side. Almost after very time of pulling the the EVF out, new eye focusing adjustment need to be done.
-Limited dynamic range
-Severe rolling shutter
-Very strong chromatic aberration
-No total manual control
-Information will disappear very quickly from the LCD screen.
-Confusing menu structure
Summery:
For the occasional parents who just bought a new shiny 4K TV and wants to have the latest modestly priced 4K handycam, this camcorder might be the solution. When doing so, please take in account that this camcorder is capable of producing decent picture quality only in properly lit locations.

I agree with the sentiment. Panasonic's competing camera also announced at CES uses an 8MP sensor. I'm sure it's not laziness, just a different strategy (look, our camcorder can do 20MP stills!!!).

The Panasonic has an 18.91 megapixel sensor, with 8.3 megapixels used in video mode. According to the specs from B&H, anyway.

From that Sony HSN-type interview, it's the same with AX-33.

The 19 MPX is for stills only.

Thanks for the correction. I could have sworn that they had 8.x megapixel there in at least two places, but I either misread or they corrected it. It wouldn't be the first misstated spec from this CES. The Sony camera also said 1" sensor at first. Meh, nothing to see here, so I'm going to move along.
