Was just wondering, I noticed the 1.6x lens is pretty pricey. Is it worth the $1000 price range for the zoom it has? I saw some sample footage of a 1.6x by on an XL2. Pretty amazing. But would it be just as good on a DVX100a?

Re: Century Optics

The zoom range on the DVX is much less. The long end of the DVX lens is 45mm as opposed to something like 72mm on the XL2 (not sure what it is exactly).

I use the 1.6x a lot and it's a great lens so I'd recommend it to you.

Great thanks for the feedback

Saw some of your stuff disj, looks good.

Do you use any type of matte box or cover for the 1.6 or just screw it on as is?

Re: Century Optics

The XL2's stock lens actually goes to 108mm, I think. So even with the tele-extender, the DVX would be at 72mm, where the stock lens on the XL2 would be still quite a bit longer.
