I finally bought my focus ring for my dvc80. I was just wondering was I expecting to much from it after waiting and saving my money to buy it. Correct me if im wrong but i was expecting some wires and electrical inputs that went to the cam. what are the guidlines in using it. it seems to me that all it does is clamp down on the old focus ring and just create a makesift fstop. am i doing something wrong is there more to this focus ring that i am missing?

Is this what you purchased?

If so, then from Century's description you have:

"An industry first! Century's user-markable white Delrin focus scale and witness mark that facilitate accurate and repeatable focusing. The unit simply clamp mounts over the lens' existing focus scales, no lens modification required. The effective lock-out mechanism limits the lens' focus range to 3-feet to Infinity with hard limit stops. Also included is an industry standard-pitch follow-focus gear to facilitate integration with popular professional cine-style follow-focus systems."

You purchased this and were expecting an electronic device? A bit of clarification might be useful.

Thanks

Thanks

I thought it was going to have wires that connect to the cam. but ive been using to shoot football and i love it. do you if i wanted the chrosel follow focus do i need both or does the chrosel work alone?
