Century Optics Filter Kit

Hey guys, I need to purchase a 4x4 filter kit, which needs to include a polarizer & nd filter to work with my cinetactics matte blox. The one I found also includes a black frost filter which from what I've seen in the past really masks that video look. So I figure, what the hell.

Anyways: http://www.adorama.com/CYDS44K1.html

For $350, do you think this is a fair price for a 3-filter (4x4) filter kit? I've always had screw-ons beforehand. And also, do you see any other kits around there for a similar price that I may need to look at?

Thanks in advance.

Re: Century Optics Filter Kit

I think it's a pretty good deal. Schneider makes high quality filters and the 4x4s get expensive (particularly polarizers)..

btw how is it working out for you using filters with matteblox?? Any vignetteing ?? Any other problems.. I heard peeps complaining about using filters with matteblox. Any idea??

Re: Century Optics Filter Kit

I've not used filters with the cinetactics matteblox, just buying my first set of 4x4's now. I've also heard that there is alot of vignetting with the filter system with the cinetactics matteblox but that it is rectifiable with a little adjustment. Jarred's review wasn't anymore comforting.

How is everybody else's experience with the filter system on the cinetactics matteblox?

Re: Century Optics Filter Kit

If you use the 4x4 matte box from CaVision, you will not have any issues with vignetting except for the circulating polarizer...if you turn it at a 45 degree angle, you will see some vignetting....other than that, I've had no issues.
