[FS: General] Century lens shade/filter holder

This shade and filter holder is designed to fit over the front of the Double Asphere wide angle adapter once marketed by Century (now part of Schneider Optics). That adapter was used on 2/3" broadcast lenses.

I bought a Double Asphere and this shade/filter holder directly from Century some years ago. When I decided to sell them, I couldn't locate the shade and only sold the DA adapter. But the shade was eventually found.

This shade (made of plastic composite) and filter holder (very lightweight aluminum or magnesium) is in virtually new condition; it saw very little use (these are the actual pics). The filter holder accepts 4 x 5.65" filters, and holds them securely with a spring-loaded clamp.

This shade may fit on a few of the current lens adapters in the Century line but you'd have to check with them to be sure.

Notice the unique shape of the clamping section in the next photo. Obviously this clamp must mate with the lens accessory your're attaching the shade to. This part can be removed from the shade itself and presumably replaced with another size/shape clamp. Century shows a very similar looking shade on its site for $475, but has no specs there.

The shade and filter holder cost me over $400. My asking price is $200. If you're in the NYC area, you can inspect it, and take, cash-and-carry, from my UWS location or I will ship for additional charges and a PayPal prepayment.

Thanks...

Thanks, addict, for noticing this.

For some reason, I didn't see his question back in June. I assume he's totally forgotten about it by now.

It's funny, but I guess I've assumed that most of the people on this board are capable of reading and absorbing details. I post a lot of gear as well as non-tech stuff on NYC's craigslist and there, I'm quite used to getting questions from people who don't or can't read. I think I take the time to carefully write up my posts, accurately describing the stuff, finding or taking decent photos, etc. It's very important to me to not deal with unhappy buyers.

Some of this stuff, like this Asphere shade, have limited and very specific uses.
