Central West Coast Forest Society - Non Profit - Shot primarily on Gh2

Thank g*d for all the sane people. We need more of them to heal the planet.

Very enjoyable and informative piece.

Thanks for sharing.

Very nice work.

Good educational/informational videos have such an important part to play in getting the message out about environmental protection and restoration. I'm a trustee with the Islands Trust and we've just commissioned our first very low budget video on the importance of riparian area protection and regulations. We have more to make - on subjects from foreshore protection to source water quality - however, limited funds means self help and we'll be trying to shoot the videos ourselves. Your excellent work certainly gives us a standard to aim towards.

Thanks Inveresk, appreciate the comments. Good to hear about your plans concerning a video. Warren Warttig provided an immense amount of material to work from. There was a good 10 minutes of footage regarding the importance of the riparian areas and their protection that we decided to edit down by quite a bit . It is quite hard to make the decisions on what to keep and how technical the video needs to be. Good luck on your video!

Very well done. The same type damage to streams was done here in GA when in the early 1900s all the old growth white pines were harvested. Some trees were over 7 feet in diameter.

Great video. Great aerial shots too! Very smooth. Whole feel of the video felt a lot like something Felt Soul Media (one of my favorites) would produce, like the one below:

copryright ? Is that like the persian rug woven with a purposeful flaw because only the creator is perfect? (the piece was great!)

Wonderful work on an important subject. Your calm style fits with the forest.

Do you mind me asking what settings you mostly had the GH2 on? I'm used to shooting on 16mm and still struggling to get consistent results on the GH2 in documentary environment.

thanks Sam. Gh2 settings - Smooth with everything at -2 and then always try to get the correct white balance, but I feel there are some big inconsistancies in the video.
the hack was similar to eoshd's unified hack.

Really well done.

Wife and I just got back from Vancouver/Whistler last week. Beautiful area.

How were the aerials done?

thanks Matt. It definitely is a nice area, rains a lot though.
Aerials were done by myself somewhat hanging out of the side of a helicopter. I had extreme motion sickness the whole time, so I am glad that some of the shots turned out.
