CELLULOID by David Jimerson - with Film Looks!

Re: CELLULOID by David Jimerson - with Film Looks!

Not trying be difficult here, but the way I understood it, (see earlier in this thread) one CANNOT change the choice of "look" once it has been chosen. To do so, you must move the clip to another track and start again (??) Maybe...yes?

The effects are at the track level, so yes, that would be the easiest way to go about it.

JohnnyRoy;
Good job; I really like the whole UltimateS product.

A bit of advice; before you get too cocky about knowledge about its inner workings and hidden mechanisms, remember the 3 non-overlapping levels of Microsoft software functionality:
1. What management claims it does;
2. What the designers and coders think it does;
3. What it actually does.

Re: CELLULOID by David Jimerson - with Film Looks!

David,
I picked up a VASST demo disc from Spot at the DV Expo.
Installed it from the CD, but it seems to install another .NET framework element and messed up my original .NET Framework installation and Excalibur 2.0. The error pop-up
indicated an "unknown" .NET framework and a new one.
Neither Celluloud or Excalibur would run. I finally had to uninstall and re-install both the original .NET framework, Excalibur AND Vegas 4.0e.
Could you give me some indication as to what might have gone wrong here? I really would love to try the demo.
Thanks inadvance for any help.
Ken

Well . . . I really don't know what Excalibur's .NET posture is and how the two would play together.

John might have a better answer . . .

Drmathprog, no truer words have been spoken. ;)

Kplo, To my knowledge, we did not package the .Net Framework with Celluloid but I didn’t make the demo CD so I can’t say for sure what’s on it. I know Celluloid pre-reqs the .Net Framework 1.1 and perhaps Excalibur uses .Net Framework 1.0 because that’s all Vegas 4.0 originally needed? But they should be upward compatible. It is odd that neither worked. I’ll contact Ed to see if there is a reason Excalibur 2.0 wouldn’t work with .Net Framework 1.1.

Kellyboy, On the topic of changing looks, I am looking into this. I agree it would be nice to be able to preview the looks before you apply them. If I can reliably swap them, then there is a good chance I can add this capability. We are always looking for ways to make the tools more useful to you. I’ll keep you posted.
