CC shots

I am debating whether or not I should re-think the colour correction I applied to my shots..

I corrected the shots and then also "graded" the footage... as much as you can say that for DV footage... I gave the highlights a hint of blue, to cool the image down a bit, but I am thinking it makes the image a little to washed out looking..

thoughts?

note: the "corrected" shots are all matted widescreen..

Oh yah!
The CC'd grabs are alot more pleasing to the eye.

I don't know if I have a widescreen fetish, but they look great cropped. Keep it like that!

I like what you're doing with cooling it down; sets a better mood for cyborg invasion (as well as compliments his metalic sheen). I would like to see a bit more contrast while retaining the cooler image. So, is the slot in the belly of the robot a mail receptical or does it play 3/4" tapes? If it's the ladder, does the calculator LCD flash "12:00?" I would probably bug out if I saw a robot like that walking around... and it was a real robot.

Ok, I like the CC versions myself, I am just wondering, (not a pro by any means, but ...) wouldn't it look even better if you gave it a S-shape Gamma curve ?

I like what you're doing with cooling it down; sets a better mood for cyborg invasion.

TravisT brings up a good point about color correction. What is the feel and look you want to accomplish? A warm comfortable feel? A cold dark feel? Try to determine that first and then color correct.

Don't know what it is, but I would say my favourite is the first image, with the cooler, almost overcast look. It's just the kinda mood I feel when I look at the imagery. I really wouldn't change the CC you have now.
