CaVision Swing Away Matte Box 3 Stage 16x9

[Joe Kocsis]

CaVision Matte Box 16x9 with 3 4x4 ABS Filter Trays
1 fixed and 2 rotating stages
Swing Away Bracket for 15mm rail systems

Matte Box is in decent used shape and functions well.
A couple of the filter trays cracked on their corner and were repaired with epoxy. You cant really see the repair unless you look very closely and the trays function well. Although I make no warranty on them. If you treat with care they'll probably last. If concerned you can still get new ABS trays for $15- at Adorama. As well as metal, and 4x5 trays if you want to go that route..
a great starter matte box with swing away bracket priced to go at
$250 shipped

so would 4x5.65 filters only fit in the non rotating stage or would they work in all stages, and do you have any 4x5.65 trays. ( I have a bunch of 4x6.5 vertical grads.)

[Joe Kocsis]

No I dont have any 4x5.. Never did.. I got it used a few years back and all it came with was 3 4x4 abs trays..
With respect to 4x5.. I cant say for sure.. If you buy the 4x5 tray Im guessing it will work in any stage.. since the locking pin is on the center, and the same on all stages.. they 4x5 trays will probably stick out a bit on either side of the rotating stages though..

Thanks for sharing this. I am looking for a lighter weight matte box (swing away) for a dslr rig, remote shoots. Trying to keep it light. Have used Cavision stuff before. Does pretty well for me. Thanks, Joe
