Cavision Follow Focus?

Hey guys looking at purchasing a Cavision follow focus to save a couple hundred bucks. Any thoughts about this? Does anyone own one and do you feel that its a quality product. If not I might have to "bite the bullet" and go with a Redrock Micro of Zacuto.

Thanks in advance for your input and thoughts!

I've used it and it's a little cheesey. I also recently made a few simple mods to the Proaim follow focus and it's actually a very nice setup for cheap. The RRM unit is excellent and of course the Zacuto unit is very overpriced.

Thanks for your help...for the money pro-aim or cavision?

Chris,

Can you describe the Cavision model you're using and shortcomings you've discovered? We sell a lot of them and I've never had a complaint.

The new Mini-Advanced model is our most popular, followed by the dual wheel for 15 / 19mm rods. They are all-geared and, in our experience, backlash is virtually non-existent.

cheesy as in the physical look to it? if so, how does it perform?

The model I have used it at least 4 years old, so I'm guessing the newer unit is improved. I myself only have the cavision handgrips and shoulder mount which I'm super happy with.

That's part of the newer DSLR / MiniDV series. That one doesn't have the same level of adjustment as the RFD15S, which might limit you in some applications.
