Cases for HVX

I've got one of the 'good old ones' too. That thing is a monster, I love it.

I have a 1510 with the padded foam insert and it is a bit tight but it works like a charm.
I also can fit a G-RAID drive and all the cables and a few essential accessories. I think
the padding is adequate, but is not quite the same as having the HVX in an island of foam in the larger (1600) series Pelicans. I feel more than comfortable throwing the case around, but it isn't light. Nothing moves around at all. I have my laptop in the
Pelican laptop case and recently shot DVCPro 50 out in the field with the laptop and the HVX.

even the small cinebag will fit the HVX totally decked out, with mattebox, followfocus, etc. In fact, i use my big one for support equipment and the small one as a camera only case.. plus there are a ton of pockets all around it as well.

Also, I was wondering if the older panasonic DVX case, the black one that says DV Cinema will fit the HVX w/accessories. Thanks!

thanks jarred. that looks like the way to go, based on what i've seen so far.

Aaaargh, I say! That's a picture of the large one, but the model number means it may be the small one.

I suppose I could move my DVX into the small one and use the big one for the HVX when it arrives... but I feel like that would be kinda disloyal.

But I'm used to the bag holding the DVX, preamps, mics, shockmounts, my mongo isolating headphones, 4 50' cables, lots of batteries, 10 tapes, a Matteblox, clapper, filters, and tons of other stuff...

Pelican 1550

Pelican 1550

Hey,

I just bought the Pelican 1550 yesterday, and the standard HVX200 fit, with all included cables and accesories. I could post a pic of the fit if anyone is interested.

Plucking foam is fun.

Does the small bag fit into airline overhead bins?

Very interesting Stas+Tagios. I just picked up a cinebag CB-01 (current production model) and i will be leaving to France today. We will see what the airline says.

Haha, il let you kno in a week.

Pelican 1510

Pelican 1510

I would really like to get the Pelican 1510 Carry-On. it looks great and having it to carry-on spec is really really nice. Hard for me to figure out if the HVX fits in the dimensions, though. Anyone have one?

I ended up buying the storm case 1750. The 1720 version would have worked but it wasn't very deep and I would have had to set the camera on the side. Now in the 1750 I can put it in the case standing upright and there's even enough room to leave my AT stereo mike on the camera.

There's also enough room in the case for pretty much everything else I have for the camaera.. remote, charger, batteries, p2cards, p2store (arriving tomorrow)... and the Marshall 7 inch HD monitor. It's a one man rolling case..

The 1750 is too big to take on a plane but if I had to do that I'd buy a softcase... which is one of my next purchases....

I had set a limit at 7500 for everything initially and today I went 2K over that.. Gods above, bring on the gigs...

Crazy, crazy question, with all that padding, there's still no way you'd consider checking that on a flight would you??

Hey all.....I am considering the 1550 or the im2500....the 2500 is carry on with wheels. Pelican has the 1510, which is also carryon with wheels, but a bit smaller than the 1550.......I do not want to remove the lens hood, as mouchinard did.....don't want that shitty foam rubbing on my lens......
Any suggestions as to which way to go? the im2500 or the 1510? I do want it carry-on capable......
thanks

Just got my Pelican 1600 from EVS today, got to give them a VERY positive review after my first time shopping with them. They called me back a half hour after I placed an order for the 1550 which was on backorder. I ended up getting the 1600 for the same price with slower shipping, it still came in 2 days! and that's from CA to NY. Thanks EVS!

Anyone have packing schemes for fitting HVX with future FS-100 and mattebox?

:dankk2:
