Cases for HVX

The 1600 fits my DVX with mattebox and follow focus, four batteries, a case of tapes, 2 4x4 filters and a focus whip comfortably.

I just retrofitted my Pelican 1550 for the HVX (it previously held my DVX). It fits quite nicely and has room for several accesories as well.

On the downside, the pelican cases always feel a little heavy, but they are rock solid.

I'm partial to the im2500 from Hardigg Storm Case. We've got two more coming this week to replace the im2700, which has no wheels. The im2500 is the largest carry-on qualified case available.

We've literally taken Hardigg around the world - here they are exposed to the elements in Central America atop our expedition truck.

The Storm Case latches are simply better than Pelicans and all of Hardigg's cases feature a lifetime warranty. That new neoprene purge / altitude valve that Peli advertises was a Hardigg innovation as well.

Try Hardigg once and you'll never go back.

Check out Cinebags... I use 'em for my DVX and my audio setup. Lots of room and pockets for EVERYTHING, pretty protective, stackable...

doesnt the hvx fit in a pelican 1510??
I heard it from someone here in the forum and ordered one from the states to ship here to europe..hope there will be enough space..!!

Does anyone use the p1510 for hvx yet?

I have the 1510 and am planning to use it for my drives and p2 store. I think it will be just a bit too shallow for the camera. I'm supposed to be getting my camera tomorrow (fingers crossed) so I'll be able to check it out. If it does fit it will be very tight. I also picked up a 1620 that I'm planning to use for the camera fully assembled, matte box, rods, wireless reciever mount etc.

I do hope the 1510 will work since I was thinking I would switch it from accessories to camera when I travel since the 1510 is carry-on sized.

I have the 1550 and the stock HVX fits perfectly.. you gotta shave alot of foam but it does fit.

I use cinebags though mainly, they fit a totally decked out camera as is, just drop it in and go.

I use a Pelican 1510 which is just barely "airline carry-on legal" for the HVX and its absolute essentials, then pack my clothes (and other camera stuff, like matte box) in a Petrol roll-away back-pack style camera case (too big to carry on), which I check. Then at the destination, I put all camera stuff in the Petol, including tripod, and my clothes in the 1510. Now everything I need to shoot with will either roll behind me or fit on my back, while the really expensive treasures are never out of my sight at any time during the trip.

Hey guys,
thanks for your replies, thats great to hear, cause i was ordering it the fare way from the states to europe(itll probably arrive before the sweet cam..) and was afraid the cam wouldnt fit in the 1510 also if i did the measurements before..thanks for the clarification Jarred an TwoHatCat!

Man.. those cinebags look awesome. Where's the best place to buy? Cost and what model/accessories do people recommend?

As much as I love the storm cases, I need something run and gun.. and something that won't knock people out as I push my way through the crowd... THat pretty much happend with my XL1 heavy metal case.. and man that chick was pissed!

cinebags is the best bag i ever had... its a real production bag. I have the big one and 2 of the small ones, they only make the small ones now cause the big one was throwing peoples backs out.

What? What? What?

What size do you mean by "big one"? I have two "big one"s (I think!) and am planning to get another. Sure, they're hard on the back when full (and hard to walk around with in small spaces), but Markus better still make 'em!

The CB-01, no?

Anyway, there's a new version, the Production Bag II (still, unfortunately, called CB-01), which addresses it seems by biggest complaint about the Cinebags - the straps coming loose and causeing you to drop 'em occasionally (unless you just sew the strap like I did). But the "discontinued" ones are perfectly good and on sale. There are also student packages if you qualify...

no no no.. the original cinebag.. quite literally eats the new CB-01 for breakfast, meaning you can pack the "new" smaller one right in the big old one.

take a look:

Shoot! I'm gonna hurry and try and find the good old ones! I can't use that tiny thing! I wonder if that's what the "old version on sale" is? Hey, Jarred, one of mine is right next to yours in the photo gallery (with the Mars rover)...

It's also distressing 'cause most websites show a picture of the old one. I'm pretty sure they're both called CB-01. Aaargh!

EDIT: "Last year's model" is also smaller. I could cry.
