cases for cards

Some SDHC card manufacturers are selling cards without cases. This is truly annoying. Does anyone know where to buy individual cases for cards?

It is kind of annoying, isn't it? Because of that, I went with a Pelican 8-card case to keep the cards consolidated and safe.

If you're still in need of some individual cases, I have 3 I'd be happy to part with. Just send a PM with your address and I'll mail 'em out.

The Pelican case is rock solid. As far as single cases go... I did a quick google and you can get cheap single SD cases. You can even get them bulk on ebay from sellers in China.

Thanks to all. I got 10 cases on ebay.

Wow. I discard the individual cases as soon as I get them. I have a multi card case and have a very rigid routine (how I place them in the case) to know which cards have been used and which are blank and ready for use. That way I never ever format a card that has shots on it that I have not yet ingested to the computer.

Agreed. I lock the card and put it in the case so the label printing is upside down (contact side of the card still facing down though). Once it's backed up on two separate drives and ingested, I'll put the cards back in use; formatting it just before shooting.

If you guys are looking for an SD card casing made out of metal with soft cushion interior, check this out. Comes in pink and blue. Business card size holder.

They shipped the item to me in Europe. (When I was living there as a student) Not too sure about the U.S...have to message em' an enquiry I guess.

Works for me! Never lost a single card eversince... has a good feel to it...like a metal cigarette box...only thinner.

I need the individual cases because I hand the cards off to my clients and never see them again.

I use the pelican case as well, it's super tough. Once you get a ton of cards and individual cases you should look at anyway. With the rubber gasket and tough shell, I don't see how any of your cards (the 8 max in the case) could have harm done to them.

I use these terrible terrible cheap plastic cases from China. Definitely thinking about getting a good card case soon..

If I had time I would design some sort of slim-line holder that could be attached securely to the actual camera that allowed cards to be slotted in and out of. That way if you know where your camera is (and you should do!) you know where your cards are, no more fumbling around in trousers (for cards anyway..)
