FS7: Case Solutions?

I'm not a fan of camera cases that require either camera be stripped down and packed separately, or stored only in one configuration. I currently have a Tilta rig and battery plate on my FS7, but may switch over to Zacuto Recoil, and also prefer to allow my camera package to be build so I can just pick up and shoot (and isn't this what the FS7 is meant for?).

I just picked up a Petrol Shoulder Bag to tide me over: http://www.petrolbags.com/product/1015390.35011.0.0.0/PC004/_/Deca_Dr._Bag_(Large)

I like the OC12 design with built in LEDs http://www.orcabags.com/product/orca-shoulder-video-bag/, but it's too small to fit an FS7 with battery plate, but supposedly their TBA@NAB OC14 model will be designed to accommodate just that.

Hey guys! Those bags look great, however I think I would prefer a hard case since it will be more protective overall. I'm just a student and put everything I had into buying this camera, so I wanna make sure nothing happens to it! Haha. Also if I ever need to travel with it, I would be more comfortable doing so with a harder case.

1027Films,
I posted this in the Bag Suggestion place but you might like the setup. You can't pack it away pre-built but I use my FS7 stripped down so setup just includes installing the monitor. This is in the Pelican 1510. FS7 + 4x Leica R Lenses + Viewfinder Loupe + 3 Batteries + Charger + Card Case.

Spoke with an Orca rep today and he confirmed the OR-14 is on the way. He said it was designed specifically with the FS7 in mind. Problem is, it won't be ready until April/May. It will have wheels and an accessory tray on top.

I'm all about designing my own compartment configurations. I used to design the cases for my old company and it was truly a thankless task -- everyone wanted it a little different. I also defy the concept of mounds and mounds of foam. With a rigid structure within the case, only a modest amount of foam is really needed as long as the gear is held snugly and firmly in place. Lots of foam is if you want to let it move around like jello. For these reasons I'm a convert to TrekPak. I can configure as I wish and change it quickly.

With the FS7 I find that I can fold the viewfinder so that the eyepiece is lying across the lens mount, perpendicular to the camera. This makes for a nice, small configuration. You have to decide if you prefer the camera lying down in the case or standing up. It's a tall camera so standing up demands a much larger case, especially if you use any sort of baseplate.

You know. Had a client in the other day. Purchased an Orca OR-24 back pack and we checked it out and it fit inside the pelican 1610 with no foam. Gotta say was a pretty sweet pack. Hard case for travel, back pack for local and on location. Padding for inside the hard case already in place with use of back pack.

Almost like it was designed to be this way.

I find the B&W Outdoor case 55 to work great with the FS7. I can have it standing upright with monitor attached but turned so that it's on the side of the camera. Plenty of room for EVF loupe, handle, dual charger, batteries and a bunch of extra stuff. I guess I can squeeze a lens inside should I need to. For airtravel I find it best to use a backpack and I use a Lowepro Computrekker plus that can hold camera, loupe, handle, batteries and a lens without getting to heavy.
