Cascading projects

How do I import sequences from different projects into a master project?

I've got three edit stations doing multicam edits of a play; each one is taking a different night. Each is generating its own project file, composed of the two acts in their precomposed multicam sequences and their edited multicam sequences.

That equals one project per machine comprised of two acts over four sequences per machine, all beautifully labelled with an identical footage heighrachy in their bins and on their drives.

I want to take the finished projects from the machines, concatinate them onto a master machine, then review (and change) the work my editors have done -- then cut the best scenes from the nights into a final sequence of the show that will run in order but be comprised of sketches that were filmed on different nights.

Thanks everyone.

Anyone?

I'm playing around with EDL exports which I've got a feeling will work, but I'm still very much in the dark.

You're going to kick yourself when I tell you...

Simply import the .prpro project files from the other machines into the master project, just as you would any other media clip.

It will import as a new bin that contains all the project assets & sequences from the sub-project.

Yeah, it's that easy.

My evil habit of overcomplicating things strikes again! How I could have overlooked that one's beyond me. Thanks Mikko.

In other news, the project's coming together beautifully and my hard drives hate me and my multicam/multitrack workflow.
