GH3 Carry Speed VF-4 Universal LCD viewfinder on GH3

[freezeframereality]

I am still looking for an lcd-loupe on the GH3 and I found this one from Carry Speed: http://www.carryspeed.com/products/lcd-view-finder

Does anyone already use it? I am really interested in how well it fits to the GH3.

Zacuto has also introduced their GH3 finder: http://store.zacuto.com/GH3-Z-Finder-Pro.html

Even though I already own two EVFs I've got one of these in route from Korea & will report back. Users seemed to love the GH2 version.

It isn't going to be available till sometime this month. But it looks pretty good and I might buy one once they are for sale

Will the extra $216 be worth it to get the Zacuto over something like the Carry Speed?

That will depend on the quality of the loupe, & how elegantly it mounts, but my guess is it won't be worth the extra money to numerous users.

But there are already a lot of Z-Finders in use so this is an attractive option for their owners. Also the base interconnects with some of Zacuto's rigs.

The flip-up feature on the Carry Speed looks useful, but it was never that hard to snap off the Z-Finder. Also the Zacuto has a cap, & mask, which helps reduce the possibility of burning your LCD, which can happen with only a few seconds exposure to direct Sun. The Carry Speed may have provision for protecting against this, & at least it can be flipped up when not in use.
