[FS: General] Carl Zeiss Planar 1.7/50 Excellent Condition

[ChipThome]

This is a Carl Zeiss Planar 1.7/50 T Contax lens with both original caps, front and rear.

I purchased this locally from the original owner. He told me this came with his camera and he used it until he got his zoom lenses. After that, it basically sat around.

Physically I see no scratches, just a few tiny chips around the rim where the lens cap mounts. No dings, no oil, no dust and no fungus. If it wasn't for the tiny chips which is expected for a lightly used lens, I would call the condition pristine.

My reason for selling, this is not what I need most at this time.

$200 includes US Shipping and any Paypal fees.

PM if interested, pics coming later today.

I will be the first to admit my lack of knowledge about these lenses, but holy smokes this sounds like a pile of money!

It's A very sharp lens and rated sharper than the 1.4 version, but lacks the Bokeh Quality of the 1.4.

the lens on ebay you linked to was mint. Can you take a closer photo of the dings?

Can you still add the filter to the front? Are there any cleaning marks on the elements? dust inside?

If you click on those images, they blow up to greater than life size. As I said there are no dings, and as the images greater than life size images prove, there are none. There are minor chips in the finish around the outside of the front rim that are felt with a thumbnail more than seen. I went over the front and rear elements with a jeweler's eyepiece and saw nothing by the way of flaws. The major difference between this lens and the one on Ebay, the product display box and lighting the Ebay seller used for his images.
