Carl Zeiss joins m4/3

I spoke to the Zeiss national sales manager last week and he is very aware of the need for a wider CP2 with the AF100 in mind, and says there are four new focal lengths due to be announced by NAB or IBC, delivering around IBC time frame.

Barry I just shot a sequence tonight using 18dBs and two lenses...the 25mm Voigtlander NOKTON f0.95 mFT and the 50mm Canon f1.2 L lens with Kipon adapter the pictures are unreal.

Oh wow, I shot a cosmetics ad yesterday / last night using the very same two lenses (with a dumb adapter for the 50), and yeah, the footage looks incredible.

Added a very short clip:

<insert a long list of disclaimers about me being new to this bla bla bla here>

Hah! Excellent... I'll tell you what, a new set of affordable 1.33x squeeze anamorphics would certainly be interesting...

And Century Optics (a division of Schneider) has made 1.33x anamorphic add-on adapters for video cameras before.

It would have been really interesting to ask Panasonic an updated version of the La7200 anamorphic adapter for the Af-100 and GH2 size sensor. They already have a lot of the know how to do it and it would be the perfect complement 1.33x for 16:9 sensor to get the anamorphic look. This is the last step to put some affordable cinema look to there camera. They did it before for a certain demand from the DVX 4:3 look to the 16:9 aspect ratio. Now if they look at the amount of thread and the price rocket of the iscorama from $400 to $3000, that there is a real demand for it.
