Card reader for the P2 ??? what to get

Hey guys got another question. I got the Mac Book Pro its about a year and a half old. I have Final Cut HD set up. I have been editing my stuff on there nice. Got some external drives set all is good.
Now I have the HVX and P2 and how to Iget a reader to dump in to the MAC. What do I do. Is there anything I can get at fryes or a store like that that will read the cards and dump. I dont know what to do HELP . RB
 
dude! all your other posts and you never bothered to ask how to transfer the footage?

this is talked about here nearly every day. you need either:
1. the duel adapter to convert your expresscard slot to a pcmcia slot
2. you can connect your camera directly to your computer via firewire
3. get you either an older powerbook or a cheap new windows laptop with a pcmcia slot

a p2 card is [physically] just a type ll pcmcia card

i dont know if anyone mentioned this to you yet, but in your case id think that 2 16gig cards would serve you better than 1 32 gig card. that way you can have one card transferring while you are shooting to the other.
 
Yea I just got 2 16 Gig Cards today. Thats the plan to have my PA on set down load the 1 card while im finishing of the second. So Im on that same plane with you there. Can I go to say Frys and get a duel adapter to convert my expresscard slot. The shoot for today got pushed to Saturday and tomarrow I got one scene. So it will be the first scene with all this new stuff tomarrow I got a stay today. The 32 Gig Card I hade I rented it for the day so I could shoot today which ot bumped so I had to eat the 70.00 rental. But bought the 2 16's today.
 
cool. you'll be fine. NO id seriously doubt that any consumer computer/electronic store is going to stock the duel adapter. you can order direct here:

or like i said above, you can just take a 12 minute break on set and transfer from your camera to your computer via firewire400

but REMEMBER to download and install the p2 drivers to your macbook pro before you leave because no drivers = no reading ANY p2 cards
 
Whare do I get the P2 drivers for the MAC could you post the link for that that would be hella cool. Thank you. Never was able to spell dont use proper gramer when I type. Im 34 I grad from High school when 18 since then been in the real world of making porn and starting comp. Allways had my people to do nice letters and crap like that. I go by the name Rob Black real name rob zicar . But I can sell the hell out of interveiws and stuff like that Night line twice, 60 mins, News week and a soon to be released DOC www.clearvisionmpg.com/obscenerypage.htm thats the trailer I dont have to spell and use proper gramer there
 
I just got to fight this horible ADMIN thats destroying are countrey and sending us to a time worse then the great depreshion and trying to figure out how to use this FU@@@@@ HVX 200 A and these P2 Cards

and man, you may be new to online professional forums. but a general rule is NO POLITICS - EVER. those topics can easily get very heated and this is simply NOT the place.
